The Area

Mijas is a small pueblo in the southern province of Malaga in Andalucia. Its in the Costa del Sol region of the Spain, high above the sea level and near a mountain side.

Like all Mediterranean coastal towns its climate is warm throughout the year, and it never gets dark. It would be recommended to wrap up if going up the mountains, the temperatures can drop very quickly on the mountain slopes.

The pueblo Mijas has a mixture of restaurants, cafes, bars, nightclubs and shopping facilities. It is roughly a 30 kilometre drive to the international airport in Malaga. Encircled in a range of mountains and woodlands, on clear days with good weather you may be able to view the Straight of Gibraltar and Gibraltar itself.

Other major towns near to the villa and worth a visit are Marbella, Granada, Seville, Malaga and Rhonda. Actvities include sailing, windsurfing, wine tasting, walking, horse riding, see local bull fights, dining at known restaurants and doing a few rounds at the Los Olivos golf course.
